HOW TO RE-INK AND MAINTAIN YOUR XSTAMPER

This guide covers both how to use your XStamper N-Series as well as the XStamper Classix Model.

How to Use Your Xstamper N-Series

To use your Xstamper, gently press the handle against the paper. Unlike conventional stamps, a hard strike or rocking motion is not necessary. A light press to the stamping surface will ensure the highest quality impression. Allow a few seconds between stamping for maximum ink flow.

The Xstamper’s dyestuff ink is ideal for paper because it spreads into the paper and air-dries quickly. The Xstamper produces less desirable results on surface-treated paper, like photo paper and parchment paper, because the coating retards ink absorption. The standard Xstamper in the turquoise and grey mounts should not be used on non-porous surfaces like metal, glass or plastic surfaces. Xstamper has special stamps and ink for stamping on these non-porous surfaces.

Normal usage constitutes daily business uses including stamping on paper, cardboard or other like materials. Normal usage does not include commercial or industrial stamping or any use where the original hand stamp has been modified or used in conjunction with any type of stamping machine.

Cleaning the Stamp Surface

Custom-made Xstamper stamps should be stored in a dust-free environment. The tacky side of any plastic tape can be used to remove dust or paper fibers which may accumulate on the stamp surface. Plain rubbing alcohol on a dust free cloth can be used on the stamp surface to clean any dirt that may build up. Never rub the stamp surface hard or allow sharp objects to come into contact with the rubber.

Re-Inking Xstamper N Series

You will know when it’s time to re-ink your stamp when the impression becomes consistently light. Most Xstampers can be re-filled through the back by removing the handle. They are designed this way to keep your fingers clean and the ink free.

Refill your Xstamper stamp with the original color of the Xstamper ink. Xstamper has many different models and there are different ways of re-inking. For a complete and illustrated re-inking guide you can refer to the package or package insert, if you saved it.

A selection of ink colors are available in bottles of 10ml, 20ml and 60ml sizes.

Changing the Ink Color

You cannot change the ink color of an Xstamper because the ink formulas will conflict. If you try to do this, you will end up with a blurry impression. The reason is because the pores (those tiny holes that hold the ink) in the Xstamper stamps become clogged when you introduce a different ink color which has a different ink formula. Also, you may not get a true color since essentially, you are mixing two colors. So the bottom line is, you can’t go from black to red.

Use Only Xstamper Refill Ink

Xstamper tells us that “all brands of stamp ink are not the same” and that stamp ink formulas are different. One brand’s formula may not necessarily mix with another. Also, some inks are not truly ink. Rather, they are a softening agent (as is the case with gel or jelly stamps). These softening agents are re-activators that simply release ink from within the product and this type of ink will not work. In fact, it may damage your Xstamper and void the 100% guarantee.
